Ore testing kit

Hello everybody.

You’ll get this mission when the Colonel is giving you a tour of the camp and you visit Weaver the chemical engineer, he’ll give you a clipboard with items he needs. When the mission A War We Can Win is completed Deacon will call Weaver and ask for details on where he can find the mercury he needs.

I’m starting this mission from outside of the Colonel’s tent on Wizard Island, there are a couple of collectible items in his tent, the first one is Colonel_ “The Good Book” and the other one is Colonel – “Sleepy Tea”. Before I left camp I turned is some bounties and filled up with Gas. This is one of the first video that isn’t part of the group of mission at the start of Crater Lake.

The mine where you’ll find the cinnabar is located northeast of Diamond Lake Camp. As you are travelling there beware of trip wire strung across the road, they usually appear along the main roads. I ran into one and to make matters more difficult I had Taylor calling and then Radio Free Oregon all while I’m trying to take care of the ambush. When you get close to the mine Deacon will call Weaver, he’ll tell him to look for an ore testing kit. Before you start looking in the cabins look for a tent on the right side of the property, there you’ll find the Superior Metal Axe which is the best melee weapon in the game.

Next search the three outbuildings, there will be loot in all of them plus a gas can in two. The building closest to the mine entrance is where the ore testing kit is, the front door has a hole in it where you can see the testing kit inside on a table. Go around the building to your right and squeeze between the boxes to get inside. There’s a couple of ammo cases as well as the testing kit.

With testing kit in hand head for the mine entrance, to the left of the entrance is a historical marker this one says Lost Cabin Mine- “The Goldmine”. There’s a truck blocking the entrance, push it out of the way and crawl in. The first spot to test is just inside the mine on the left, once you test it you’ll have to enter the mine shaft to get the rest. When you jump down the shaft you’ll be met by 2 Freakers, keep you flash light on to blind them. Advance slowly and wait for the Freakers to appear, take them out as they do. Deacon will say “That’s The Last Of Them” when all of the Freakers in the area are taken care of. The first area only has loot. As you go deeper into the mine you’ll see the pump up ahead and the gas can on the right, pick up the gas can and move on. A little further in on the left will be the second of the five remaining spots of cinnabar and across on the right will be the third. Move through the mine slowly, this will make it easier to find the cinnabar. As soon as you gas up the pump and start it more Freakers will emerge, there’s only two so they’re easily taken care of. Keep advancing into the mine, there is a small room to the right at the top of the ramp with a couple of Freakers, you can either go in and take them out or wait till later when they come out when you’re clearing the area below. The mine will open up with rooms to the right and left. The room on the right has two Freakers, if you didn’t take out the two Freakes in the little room before this is when they’ll come down. That should be all of the Freakers. The next two spots are in the room on the left and the last one is in the room on the right, it makes no difference in which order you collect them, when you have all six get into the elevator and ride up to the top.

The normal exit to the mine is to the right when you get off the elevator and the only thing on the way out is some loot if you’re going to collect it back track to the elevator when you’re done. Instead of turning right from the elevator go straight, there’s another tunnel that runs parallel to the main exit. Follow this tunnel and you’ll find a Nero Research Site on the left, after you get the injector you can continue down the tunnel to the exit. All that’s left is to return to Weaver, when you get t here a cut scene will play when it’s over you’ll have another supply run to do for Weaver and the mission will be complete. This mission pays 7000XP, 350 credits, 550 camp trust points, and the A Good Soldier and Blow It Up Good story lines will be updated.
